Fundraiser rules
The rules every club and every sponsor agrees to. Short, plain, and the same for everyone.
Who can run a fundraiser
Only verified organisations can publish fundraisers. To be verified you give Fundy your NZBN, your incorporated society or registered charity number, a contact person and their contact details. Fundy screens this before approving.
Fundy never asks for your bank account.
Bidding
Every bid is binding and typically excludes GST. Only bid what you can pay.
- The highest bid at the close wins, as long as it meets the reserve.
- A spot that does not meet its reserve does not sell. Fundraisers can talk to bidders or relist.
- A bid placed in the last 5 minutes extends the close time by 5 minutes.
- You are emailed as soon as you are outbid.
- Clubs may remove a bid at their discretion. Sometimes sponsors may not meet the criteria of the club or organisation. The sponsor is emailed with the club contact details.
Team fundraisers
On a team fundraiser, supporters buy a name on a player shirt or a number and pay by card at checkout. Payments are instant and final.
- If the club picked numbered pricing, number 14 is worth $14.
- Fundy only handles the fundraiser itself. Once a fundraiser ends, it's all up to the club.
After the close
On a kit fundraiser the club approves the winner and their logo and sends its own invoice. Sponsors have 7 days to pay and to supply artwork. Fundy never holds or handles money for kit fundraisers.
On a team fundraiser Fundy pays the club within 5 days of closing, less 5 percent to cover card processing with Stripe and administration.
What sponsorship gets you
Sponsorship is as described on the fundraiser page. This is always managed solely by the club or organisation running the fundraiser, not Fundy.
Clubs can decline a logo that is offensive, misleading, or that clashes with an existing club commitment. If a logo is declined, the club may go to the next best bid.
Behaviour
Bidding to inflate a price without intending to pay, running a fundraiser for something you cannot deliver, or impersonating an organisation will get the account suspended. We investigate every report.
